Date Changed on Upcoming NYC TLC Meeting

The public meeting for New York City Taxi & Limousine Commission has been moved from April 10 to April 17. At this meeting, the TLC will hear public comments on the decision to require fleet vehicles added after Jan. 1, 2009 in the "black car" category to get 25 mpg or higher. The "luxury limousine" category so far has not been added to this program, but the TLC will consider what it's going to do next with other member categories. One reason limousine companies are very concerned about this change is that used Town Cars are usually sold by limousine operators to black car companies, but this could end under the new rules.
