Carey & Avis: No Comment?!

TIGHT LIPS MEAN NO TIPS: LCT Magazine will be publishing a feature in its October issue focusing on the growing presence of car rental companies in the chauffeured transportation industry.

As Avis Budget Group moves toward 80% ownership of Carey International, getting quotes and analysis from these companies was an obvious part of the information gathering process. Both companies have declined doing interviews with LCT on this subject at this time. WHY?

LCT is still going forward and will be interviewing other companies in both car rental and chauffeured transportation. It's an important subject to cover in the magazine, as car rental companies expand chauffeured services in Asia and Europe, and Avis Budget Group builds on its Avis Chauffeur Drive subsidiary and its ownership stake in Carey International.
