UH, OH: Avis Tries Again

PARTNERSHIPS WITH HOTELS for chauffeured service. Although the AVIS HOTEL SERVICE IN QUESTION is being promoted in Fiji, which of course has different laws and rules from the U.S., don't assume such concepts can't spread virally throughout the global resort and hotel industry. In any competitive situation in the U.S., legitimate chauffeured operators must check if Avis abides by the same rules and licenses when providing chauffeured service at hotels as do actual chauffeured transportation operators. If not, then they deserve to be stopped just as they have been at major airports and ports this year.

Ahem, FYI, the Toyota Camry and the Toyota Corolla are not luxury chauffeured vehicles. Might as well just rent one yourself.  -- M.R.
