CLUNKER Of A Giveaway

CASH N' GRAB: Aside from channeling taxpayer money into another temporary smokescreen stimulus, the program simply affirms at great expense what we already know: Given the freedom and the funds, Americans still prefer bigger vehicles. While a few compacts rank in the top 10 cars bought with our taxpayer supplements, many of the clunker swappers so far have acquired new F-150s and Silverados. This costly spectacle indirectly validates the large, luxurious choices of chauffeured transportation fleet operators; bigger IS better. -- M.R.
