At the Hop Farm Music Festival in Kent, England this past holiday weekend, Prince ordered a limousine to drive him from his dressing room to the main stage for his performance. The entire length of the trip was about 82 feet. What a wonderful world it would be if runs were confined to less than 100 feet and operators could charge the full transfer or hourly fee, plus gratuity. Speaking of, what do you think would have been an appropriate tip?
Sure, if the limo were
one of these, it’s conceivable that Prince could have entered through the rear most door, scooted to the front, and exited at the stage without the vehicle ever moving — saving millions on fuel costs — but even then I would expect the chauffeur to receive some sort of tip, especially from someone
whose chest hair is made of gold.
