INSIDE SCOOPER: Joe Jordan left his post as long time president of the Limousine Association of Houston in March. That doesn’t mean he plans to retire anytime soon. In fact, he is just getting started with a new industry website.
Joe started the Houston association in 2004 and served as president until his departure. Since then, he has diligently been working on a new website, Limo Insider Report.
Joe says his site is devoted to providing real-time information about “pressing and immediate hot-button concerns and issues.” His main focus intends to be national level news, information and issues. He also is planning a run for a seat on the board of directors of the National Limousine Association to continue his long legacy of serving the industry. Joe particularly believes that sharing information about the NLA activities on a national level would be of great interest to industry members.
As the president of the association, Joe became well known in the industry for sending out frequent e-mails outlining current events affecting the industry. Some were specific to his local area and some were national level interests. Sometimes they were relevant and sometimes they were downright annoying when they focused only on the ports of Houston. Of course those had little value to me being in Bakersfield, Calif., with no cruise port and no ocean.
No longer affiliated with the association, Joe had plenty of time to get more involved in issues around the country. He says he frequently receives calls from operators all over the country asking for help or information about various issues, and enjoys tackling issues and providing advice. Joe admires and is inspired by industry operator veteran, Dean Schuler, who so willingly gave his time to those needing help. Schuler passed away in November 2010, and while Joe knows they are big shoes to fill, he wants to help carry on the legacy of helping others.
