Luxury Travel Spending Rises Amid Econ Gloom

A recent Forbes article about luxury travel spending confirms what a wealth expert told operators during the LCT Leadership Summit in Miami Beach in September: The richest Americans may cut back on spending, but not for luxury travel, which they see as an investment in quality time.

And of course, luxury travelers, whether by commercial first class or charter jet, are most likely to use chauffeured vehicles to get to their planes.

The December issue of LCT Magazine will have a thorough article on the Summit presentations, including tips on how operators can better understand and market to the "new wealthy" with their middle class ways.
