I joined the Limos.com Operator Forum in April 2001. It is hard to believe what has transpired in the past 11 years since I first began my association merely out of curiosity more than anything.
One thing is very clear about Limos.com: They are a major force in the industry. Their name was plastered all over the recent International LCT Show in Las Vegas as they sponsored one function after another in a show of support and commitment to the industry. Their own “Road Show” seminar drew a standing room only crowd. Their event was a side show to the official program and held in the later afternoon with an open bar. Now, the open bar itself could have caused a huge draw, but when I attended, I would estimate that only one quarter of the room indulged in the free drinks offered before things got started. It sure would be nice if all business meetings could begin with a nice glass of wine.
When I began using the forum, it was to share marketing ideas, obtain mechanical advice, discuss insurance matters, and really just shoot the breeze with fellow operators. Many of the original people are still there today such as my friend Wade Randolph in Baton Rouge. Sadly, many people that once dominated the forum are now out of business. They probably should have aligned more closely with the business aspect of Limos.com as a lead generation vendor.
Limos.com has grown by leaps and bounds since its humble start. It now has direct relationships with major corporate accounts, airlines, hotels and travel partners that keep the orders just flowing in to Limos.com, and efficiently dispatched out to a network of providers.
There are those who grumble about the fees associated with the leads and orders. [By the way, Limos.com provides both]. If you become a business partner and take their business orders, the orders just pop up by email and you deliver the service. Sure, they discount your price, but who cares? Most of us pay travel agents a commission or provide discounts to affiliates that provide work for you so why would you not want to pay them for the leads? Most operators will never have the financial means to advertise in a major mainstream consumer publication. Limos.com brings operators wide-ranging advertising opportunities, while its growth and commitment to the industry is unmatched by any other network we do business with. We are happy to be a Limos.com service provider.
